What: International Observatory of Human Rights Anniversary and Launch of IOHRTV – the First Human Rights TV channel.

The International Observatory of Human Rights celebrates its one-year anniversary with its partners and VIP guests at London’s prestigious Front-Line Club.

The evening will be hosted by award-winning BBC presenter Yalda Hakim who presents the network’s flagship news programme ‘Impact with Yalda Hakim’.

Hakim will be interviewing Valerie Peay, director of IOHR who will be speaking about the launch of the first human right TV channel and her experience in using digital technology to forward her organisation’s advocacy and mission of defending human rights worldwide.

IOHR will announce its recent partnership with Netgem.TV and the broadcast of its human rights channel which will reach subscribed viewers in twenty countries on four continents across Europe, Australia, Latin America and the Middle East. This model of advocacy and partnership will also allow IOHRTV to reach viewers across multi-platforms including TV, online and mobile.

Trish Lynch, the IOHRTV chief correspondent will talk about her experience of covering sensitive human rights stories and the transformation from her previous job covering stories for CNN and Sky News.

A group of young students interested in human rights and enrolled under the IOHR Ambassadors program will attend the event and participate with the attendees in the production of a video campaign that will be launched worldwide to promote human rights causes and the values of the International Observatory of Human Rights.
